Job Summary | The Operations Analyst at Riverdale provides critical support to our Field Operations team and reports directly to our Director, Field Operations and Driver Experience. The Field Operations department is responsible for functions such as Driver Management, Load Execution, Safety & Compliance in the field, Animal Care, and interfacing with Customers. Your role will involve the active monitoring and management of ongoing projects, identifying potential roadblocks, and working closely with the Director, Field Operations and Driver Experience to ensure timely completion. The Operations Analyst will support, and eventually lead tasks including maintaining our SOP’s (Process Documentation), monitoring our Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), and Process Design/Improvement. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with a bias for action and a generalist mindset. The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. Job Duties | - Departmental Project/Task Management
- Active monitoring and management of ongoing projects in Field Operations, identifying potential roadblocks, and working closely with the Director, Field Operations and Driver Experience to ensure timely completion.
- Manage the FOS travel calendar to maximize efficiency, strategically scheduling farm audits and coaching trips around the DLB
- Process Design/Improvement
- Work with stakeholders to analyze and improve existing processes: scalability, efficiency (time, cost, labour, etc), more accurate/higher quality output, better controls, more automation/tech integration, etc.
- Identify opportunities where a process needs to be built/rebuilt/streamlined and make it happen: Problem definition, requirements gathering and business objectives, implementation plan, execution, documentation, handoff.
- Understanding of Key Operations Processes & KPI’s
- This is a highly nuanced industry and over the course of the year this role is expected to understand how various critical processes that affect Operations interact (i.e. Fleet Management, Dispatch, Driver Management).
- Operations Analyst is expected to understand the KPI’s for Field Operations including how they are calculated and what the targets are. Where we are below target, they work with the Field Operations team to figure out how to close the gap.
- Process Documentation
- Works with the Operations team to develop and update SOPs, Processes, and other documented resources.
- Responsible for making sure existing documentation (SOPs, Processes, and other documented resources) is updated when required with changes flagged to Director, Field Operations.
- Front-Line & Real-Time Tactical Support
- Operate out of the London office to provide daily, direct support to our driving fleet, rapidly triaging and resolving real-time issues related to digital logbooks, technology/telematics, and animal welfare.
- Animal Welfare
- Primary owner of DOA documentation process and understanding animal welfare implications.
- Review animal welfare policies and internal training policies to make sure it is current and recommend updates where needed. Drafting new policies, update current policies/training materials, and ensure our Animal Welfare Program is world class
- Understand Animal Welfare on farms, and in transit
- Know and understand the tarping decision trees
- Able to assist driver providers in making welfare decisions based on weather, traffic and bird size
- Understand what puts a load at risk
- Monitor at risk loads and notify Director of Field Operations, FOS or customer when needed
- Identify providers that may need extra training
- Determine what that training is and who should be providing the training
- Meeting Participation & Follow-up
- Attend select internal and external meetings with the Managing Director
- Take detailed notes and document action items, follow-ups, and key decisions with a view for departments to execute on their action plans. Ensure all action items are logged in Asana, our workflow management tool.
