HR Generalist
About the role
Riverdale is hiring an HR Generalist to support day to day HR programs across the organization. This is a hands on role in a small HR team and includes a mix of recruitment support, onboarding/offboarding, leave administration, performance management documentation, and support with compensation and bonus processes.
Key responsibilities
Support hiring across office and field teams (job postings, screening, interview coordination, candidate communication, references/background checks)
Lead full-cycle hiring for assigned office roles
Maintain the ATS and hiring trackers and keep records accurate and current
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including templates, checklists, and exit interviews
Support performance management, including drafting coaching/warning letters, tracking action items, and supporting investigations
Coordinate employee leaves (eligibility, documentation, tracking, payroll updates, and return to work planning)
Support quarterly and annual bonus and compensation processes
Maintain HR templates and process documentation and support HR projects as needed

Qualifications (what we’re looking for)
Must haves:
3-5 years experience in a hands on HR role (Generalist level or similar)
Strong experience with performance management documentation (coaching, warnings, investigations support, recommendation writing) and comfort working with leaders
Experience running employee leaves end to end (eligibility, medical documentation, tracking, payroll coordination, return to work planning)
Solid understanding of Ontario employment legislation and the ability to apply policy consistently and escalate risk appropriately
Comfortable supporting hiring and able to run office hiring end to end when assigned (intake, screens, interviews, references, offers)
Strong written communication and confident verbal communication
Very organized with strong follow through (calendar, inbox, trackers, deadlines)
Comfortable using systems daily (HRIS, ATS, Google tools, task tools like Asana or similar)
Valid G driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (travel to other Riverdale sites is required)
Nice to haves:
Experience in an ops-heavy environment (transportation, manufacturing, warehousing, trades)
Experience supporting quarterly bonus cycles or comp review processes
Experience working across multiple sites and managing competing priorities
Working conditions
Some travel to other Riverdale locations across Southwestern Ontario
Occasional support outside regular hours may be required
