We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team in Kitchener and help coordinate the daily functions of our HR department. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be the point person for our core people programs - everything from leading office recruitment and managing quarterly bonus cycles to handling employee relations. This is a role for an HR professional who enjoys taking ownership of their work and keeping our internal people programs running smoothly.

The Work You’ll Own

  • Recruiting Strategy & Oversight: You will oversee Riverdale’s overall recruiting program, tracking KPIs and ensuring our strategy is working. You will partner with the Recruiter to keep our processes consistent.

  • Hands-on Hiring: You lead the full-cycle recruitment for all office and executive roles. You also act as the backup for high-volume field hiring (drivers and technicians) during peak seasons when the team needs an extra hand.

  • Performance & Employee Relations: You are the HR lead for weekly operations meetings. You’ll manage low-to-medium risk investigations and handle progressive discipline end-to-end to make sure we’re staying fair and consistent.

  • Compensation & Bonus Cycles: You own the quarterly field bonus programs - from posting the criteria to getting the final files to Finance. You also support our office managers through the annual compensation review process.

  • The Provider Experience: You manage the "bookends" of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding check-ins at day 7 and 30, leave management, and conducting exit interviews.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: You have handled more than just the day-to-day tasks of recruiting; you’ve managed the strategy and metrics behind it. You also have practical experience across other core HR areas, including performance management, employee investigations, and compensation programs.

  • Tech-Confident: We lean heavily on our tech stack - including Asana, Namely, JazzHR, and the Google Suite - to handle the administrative heavy lifting. We’ve built sophisticated workflows to automate the repetitive stuff, which gives you your time back to focus on the actual HR work.

  • Grit: You stay calm under pressure and can handle a fast-paced environment. If you have a background in high-volume service or operations, you’ll fit in well here.

  • Mobile: You have a valid G license and a reliable vehicle for occasional travel to our locations across Southwestern Ontario.

Compensation & Growth

The salary for this role is $65,000-$75,000, and we determine where you land based on ownership:

  • The Developing Tier ($65,000): This is for candidates who have the right "grit" and foundations but are still developing into full ownership of these functions. 

  • The Independent Tier ($75,000): This is for candidates with demonstrated, repeat experience leading areas like complex investigations, compensation cycles, and full-cycle recruiting independently.
